Foreigners visiting Turkey will be able to prolong their 90-day tourist visas to nine months, allowing them to have more time to enjoy Turkey without the hassle of acquiring a residence permit.

Under the current visa regulations, tourists are currently only allowed to stay 90 days in 180 days. However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has made a change to the visa policy for foreigners, enabling them to extend tourist visas for an additional six months.

Those whose visas have already expired will also be able to extend their stay in Turkey to nine months upon paying a fine.

What happens if you did not reach the 90 days limit within 180 days but arrive for a 3 weeks stay 1 week before the 180 days expire? Does one have to leave the country on day 179 and come back 2 days later? Is a short trip to a Greek island sufficient? Very expensive if tickets have been booked befo...

Hello, I don't know much about this subject, but I think that you can go to the foreigners department of the police office in the province where you stay in Turkey. Kind regards, Burak

We are coming to our boat in Turkey in April for 88 days. We usually come back in September for 2 months but cannot do this now under the new rules unless we go out to Greece for 8 weeks during this 88 day period. How is this good for the Turkish economy?

90% of the visitors being over 3 month in TR are pensionades. They realy do not intend to do any work (except on there own properties). Why not giving them a 9 month visum at once. They only bring money into TR.
