Turkish screen actor Tarık Akan will be honored by the Nuremberg Turkish-German Film Festival when the annual event marks its 17th edition in March, its organizers announced this week.
The 62-year-old will be honored for “his enduring contributions to the development of Turkish cinema and helping Turkish movies gain international renown” during the fest’s opening gala on March 1. A selection of films featuring Akan will be presented during the festival, which will run from March 1-11 in the city of Nuremberg in the German state of Bavaria.
