Arab League monitors have arrived in the Syrian protest hotbed city of Homs and are meeting the governor, Syria's Dunia television channel said.

The monitors are on a mission to assess whether Syria has halted a crackdown on a nine-month uprising against President Bashar al-Assad. At least 34 people were killed in Homs on Monday.
