China and Turkey celebrate 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations
In cooperation with the Turkish Foreign Ministry the Chinese Embassy in Ankara has organized a photo exhibition in the Suna Çokgür Ilıcak Art Gallery to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and China.
The opening reception was hosted by the Chinese Embassy and the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Gong Xiaosheng, China's ambassador to Ankara, delivered a speech during the opening ceremony, underlining that Turkey and China have made significant progress in their bilateral relations in recent years. He also recalled that the year 2012 has been proclaimed the “Year of Chinese Culture in Turkey” and that 2013 would be the “Year of Turkish Culture in China” by means of a memorandum of understanding signed between the Republic of Turkey and the People's Republic of China on June 16, 2010. “In that way, the friendship and brotherhood between Turkey and China will be reinforced,” he added.
The exhibition runs until Dec. 12, 2011 at Dr. Sadık Ahmet Cad. No:8 in Balgat.
