Polish classical breeze to blow through Aya İrini

7 October 2011 /TODAY’S ZAMAN
The Aya İrini Museum is set to host what promises to be a dazzling evening of Polish musical entertainment on Oct. 14, on the eve of the 600th anniversary of the commencement of Polish and Turkish diplomatic relations.

In an event organized by the Consulate General of Poland in İstanbul, with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the esteemed İstanbul State Symphony Orchestra (İDSO) will perform under the baton of a man widely hailed as one of the most successful Polish conductors of recent years, Tadeusz Strugala. With a musical repertoire spanning classical, romantic and contemporary music, Strugala is a well-known face on the Turkish classical music scene, having worked with the state symphony orchestras in both Ankara and İstanbul for extended periods over the past two decades.

The musical program will include works by some of the most acclaimed Polish composers of all time, including Chopin, Górecki and Kilar, and the orchestra will also be accompanied by renowned Polish pianist Krzysztof Jablonski. Tickets are available from mybilet.com and www.idso.gov.tr.
