Somalia: Erdoğan's visit a lesson to the world

“After Mr. Prime Minister came here, a big change happened in the world's view of Somalia because Turkey is a very strong and developed country,” Ali said, as he hosted a delegation from Turkish charity organization Kimse Yok Mu, Turkish doctors and Turkish journalists in his country.

“After Erdoğan, Iran's foreign minister visited here too,” Ali said, referring to Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi's visit to Somalia on Tuesday. “This change in the view of Somalia will continue,” he added.

During his visit to Mogadishu last Friday, which aimed to draw international attention to the famine sweeping across the Horn of Africa, Erdoğan called on the international community to extend a helping hand to Somalia, saying the civilized world should successfully pass the test by reaching out to the famine-stricken nation and promised that the Turkish government would take a number of extensive measures to help Somalia get back on its feet.
