The iftar tent, set up in Amsterdam's Osdorp district, served dinner to nearly 10,000 people during the first two days after its opening.
Osdorp Municipality Deputy Mayor Jesse Bos, noting that he has many Muslim neighbors, said that he was pleased to have the opportunity to share iftar with Muslims during his visit to the iftar tent on Sunday evening.
Congratulating those who had organized such a successful and meaningful event, Bos proposed that two iftar tents would be set up next year in Osdorp.
The Turkish Consulate General in Rotterdam religious services attache, İsmail Hilmi Bilgi, also praised the establishment of the iftar tent, which fosters a spirit of brotherhood in the community. Bilgi said: “To realize love, brotherhood and peace, we need to get to know one another better to overcome problems. Ramadan provides an opportunity for this.”
