Books by two of modern Turkish literature’s favorite sons, Yekta Kopan and Hakan Günday, have been translated into Arabic and published in Egypt.
Kopan’s much-loved book “Bir De Baktım Yoksun” which was the 2010 recipient of the Yunus Nadi and Haldun Taner Literature Award, was translated by Maikel Samuel and Yusuf Doğan, while Günday’s novel “Azil,” a film version of which will hit movie screens next year, was translated by Rahem Sayed. The books were published by one of Egypt’s oldest independent publishing houses, ETRAC.
