The Swiss Embassy in Ankara celebrated a Swiss national day with a reception at the residence of Ambassador Raimund Kunz on Friday.

A large number of guests attended the reception hosted by the embassy, including Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuğrul Günay and Democratic Left Party (DSP) leader Masum Türker.

Marking the occasion, Ambassador Kunz delivered a speech that stressed the common ground between Turkey and Switzerland and expressed hope for further cooperation. State opera singer Gürhan Gürgen sang the national anthems of both countries as the guests feasted on traditional Swiss cuisine.

Moroccan Ambassador to Turkey Lotfi Aouad hosted a reception on the occasion of a Moroccan national day, also known as Throne Day, which marks the anniversary of the enthronement of King Mohammed VI, on Saturday.

This year, the embassy celebrated the 12th anniversary of the king's accession with the attendance of numerous guests at a lunch buffet at the Swissôtel Ankara.
