Popular Russian daily to launch Turkey edition
Cihan General Manager Abdülhamit Bilici and MK Publishing House Chairman Pavel Gusev attended at the signing ceremony.
One of the popular Russian dailies, Moskovski Komsomolets (MK), is to launch a Turkey edition that will inform Russians about political, economic and cultural developments in Turkey, following an agreement signed between the MK and Turkey's Cihan news agency.
The MK's Turkey edition is already up at www.mk-turkey.ru and aims to become a bridge between Turks and Russians.
The new news portal will reach out to more than 140 million Russians over an area of 18 million square kilometers and enable Turkish companies to introduce themselves to Russia through ads. Following its launch, the news portal managed to land among the first 2,000 most popular news portals in Eurasia on the mail.ru ranking.
The agreement between the MK and Cihan was signed in Moscow. Cihan Editor-in-Chief Abdülhamit Bilici and MK Publishing House Chairman Pavel Gusev were in attendance at the signing ceremony.
Cihan is also providing content support to another news portal -- www.haberrus.com, which is published in Turkish. The news portal has already become a reliable source of information for those who want to follow the most up-to-date news about Russia.
The MK, which has a circulation of 1 million in Russia and in its surroundings, has 14 other editions in countries such as the UK, the US, Ukraine and Germany.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Bilici said his agency acts as a bridge between Turkey and Russia thanks to its provision of content to both news portals.
“We have taken a significant step for cooperation among the media [of different countries]. We will help Russians follow developments in Turkey in their own language. We will provide content to the MK. In this way, Russian readers will learn about Turkey from a reliable source,” said Bilici.
