The Turkish Prime Ministry's Disaster and Emergency Management Unit on Wednesday announced that nearly 11.5 tons of aid have been sent to Libya.

A statement released by the unit said Turkey is continuing to deliver humanitarian aid to Libya, whose people are currently challenged by violence and instability. “Nearly 11.5 tons of medical and humanitarian aid was sent to Libya on a cargo plane today [Wednesday] under the leadership of our unit and its coordination with the General Staff and the Foreign Ministry,” the statement said.

Noting that the cargo plane is expected to return to Turkey on Wednesday evening, the statement said nearly 2,000 tons of aid have been delivered to Libya so far.
