Serbian director Emir Kusturica will head the jury of this year’s “Un Certain Regard” competition at the Cannes film festival, The Associated Press reported over the weekend.
The Sarajevo-born director of Palme d’Or winners “When Father was Away on Business” and “Underground” will head the jury for the secondary competition, created in 1978 to promote film aesthetics and originality of their ideas. Kusturica won Cannes’ top prize twice, in 1985 and 1995. The festival’s 64th edition will run from May 11-22.
