The embassy has announced that the Consulate General of Hungary in İstanbul will begin to accept visa applications from Turkish citizens who wish to travel to Portugal under an agreement recently signed by the embassies of Portugal and Hungary in Ankara. It is intended to more conveniently serve applicants who live in İstanbul and the surrounding area. The Portuguese Embassy also stated that the documents necessary for the visa application will remain the same, as listed on the website of the Portuguese Embassy in Ankara. Furthermore, fees will be charged by the Hungarian authorities. In the meantime, the consular section of the Portuguese Embassy in Ankara will continue to accept visa applications.
The Embassy of Portugal in Ankara has announced that starting March 30, 2011, Turkish special (green) and service (grey) passport holders will no longer need visas for entry to Portugal, under an agreement on the Suppression of Visas for holders of Service and Special Passports, signed on July 14, 2010 between Portugal and Turkey.
