Turkish foreign minister meets Chinese vice president

Xi appreciated the efforts of Davutoğlu for the development of relations between Turkey and the People's Republic of China.

Meanwhile, Davutoğlu reiterated Turkey's will to carry the relations to the highest level, and said that Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan would visit China next year.

Davutoğlu said that economies of both Turkey and China had grown during the global economic crisis, and pointed out the importance of cooperation between the two countries in regional and international matters.

Davutoğlu said that they considered Uighurs as a bridge of friendship and cooperation between Turkey and China, adding that Turkey wanted to develop cultural relations with Uighurs.

The Turkish foreign minister also invited Xi --who is expected to be Chinese President two years later-- to Turkey.

Xi and Davutoğlu expressed will to revive the historical Silk Road as well as to develop economic relations between the two countries.

Davutoğlu will visit Great Wall of China and meet with his Chinese counterpart on Tuesday.
