Turkey has become the world's second biggest exporter of pasta behind Italy.
Turkish Pasta Industrialists' Association Chairman Murat Bozkurt told the Anatolia agency on Monday that they exported 221 thousand tons of pasta to 128 different countries in the first nine months of 2010. "Last year, our exports amounted to 217 thousand tons. We exceeded that amount in the first nine months of this year. Our target is to export 300 thousand tons of pasta by the end of 2010. And we set our export target as 500 thousand tons for the next five years and reach an income of 500 million USD," he said.
