An Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft which landed in İstanbul on Thursday veered off a runway at İstanbul Atatürk Airport. A number of airplanes have driven off this runway previously.
According to information obtained by an Anatolia news agency reporter, the plane veered off the runway before being able to turn to access the apron. It is believed that the runway is too short, which is why several airplanes have driven off it so far.
A number of firefighters and rescue teams were called to the scene. News reports revealed that there were 128 people aboard, including two infants and seven crew members. All passengers and crew members were sent to İstanbul Atatürk Airport’s emergency exit by the firefighters and rescue teams.
