Iranian security forces detain 10 Turkish citizens

Iranian security forces detained 10 Turkish citizens who entered to this country from Esendere Border Pass in Yuksekova town of southeastern province of Hakkari.

Security forces detained 10 Turkish tradesmen, who entered from the border pass on December 31, and seized their passports.

Çetin Çelik, Sub-Governor of Yüksekova, talked to Iran's Sero region's commander and asked for the release of the Turkish citizens.

Hakkari Governor Muammer Türker said, "Iranian officials said Turkish citizens were detained on charges of fuel oil smuggling. Initiatives are underway for the release of the citizens".
