Eroğlu: Cyprus talks to continue after polls

31 December 2009 /TODAY’S ZAMAN WITH AP
Peace negotiations to reunify Cyprus will continue after the April elections, Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Derviş Eroğlu said on Wednesday.

“As there will be no deal before the elections, the negotiations have to continue after the elections,” Eroğlu said, going against common belief that his election means a halt to discussions with Greek Cypriots.

Denouncing the belief that he will halt peace talks with Greek Cyprus, Eroğlu said his party has always fought for a solution for years.
