Murathan Mungan wins 2012 Erdal Öz Literary Award
Famous Turkish poet and author Murathan Mungan is the winner of this year’s Erdal Öz Literary Award, the award committee announced Monday.
The 56-year-old Mungan has published more than 45 works ranging from plays, short stories and novels to essays, poems and screenplays since 1980. The Erdal Öz Award, established in 2008 by the family of late author/publisher Erdal Öz, the founder of Can Publishing House, is given to a living writer who has had a work published in the last three years. The award consists of a cash prize of TL 15,000 and a statuette designed by Handan Börüteçene.
