Questions about Oktay’s death

28 December 2011, Wednesday /MEHMET ALTAN
Şule Oktay [the sister of Behçet Oktay, who headed the National Police Department’s Special Operations Unit and shot himself in the head in his automobile in Ankara in 2009] made some striking statements on her brother’s suspicious suicide. She said her brother was left-handed, and yet he was shot on the right side of his head.

Oktay’s death is suspicious, very suspicious indeed. The number of questions that his death brings up makes one’s blood run cold, whereas the authorities just ignore them. Let me list some of these questions: Oktay supposedly committed suicide with one bullet, so why then is there gunpowder residue on both his hands? According to the autopsy, Oktay’s ribs were cracked, so why were his ribs cracked when he was reported to have departed from an entertainment venue? Why doesn’t anyone look into the last numbers called from Oktay’s cell phone, which was seized on the night of the “suicide”? Why does no one explain why Oktay was called three times after his death from a spot near the Ankara Police Department? And why doesn’t anyone explain why there was gunpowder residue on both hands of Halil Kesici [who reportedly saw Oktay shoot himself] on the night of the incident?
