Albanian firefighters receive training in İzmir

22 May 2011 /TODAYSZAMAN.COM
Six firefighters from Albania have received training to become firefighting instructors in the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality's Toros Firefighting Education Center.

The Prime Ministry's Turkish Business Development Agency and the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality were responsible for the program. The firefighters in training were able to successfully extinguish a fire in an open area and control a fire inside a tunnel.

Last year, firefighters from İzmir went to Albania to provide firefighters with training. However, this year they invited six Albanians to İzmir, where they were presented with different scenarios and exercises.

Fatmir Cengu, who participated in the 15-day training program, thanked Turkey and the İzmir firefighters for providing them with such valuable experience.
