UN Discordance Continue a Week Remaining for the Summit

There is only one week before the World Summit that will be held in New York with the reform project of the United Nations (UN). However, discordance continues between the member states on the conclusion document.

UN General Council President Jean Ping announced a new draft for the public to overcome the deep disagreement between the member states committee composed of 33 members that formed on August 29. He also added the UN continues its works to prevent a failure in the summit so that an agreement is reached.

Ping underlined the debated topics on a 45-paged document distributed to the press. The document, includes disputes over development, terrorism, disarmament, human rights, responsibility on the protection of publics under the threat of genocide, strengthening peace and administrative reforms in the UN.

The Committee formed by Ping and composed of 33 representative countries aims to overcome disputes before the General Council meeting that will be held on September 14-16 for the 60 th year anniversary of the UN foundation. More than 170 countries will participate in the General Council meeting.
