Restoration for Safranbolu Houses

August 13, 2005, Saturday/ 18:01:00
Restoration of the facades of 100 buildings will be undertaken for the historical mansions in Safranbolu town of Karabuk, which are some of the most significant buildings in Turkish urbanization culture.

About 2,000 traditional Turkish houses built in Safranbolu during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries attract many local and foreign tourists for their aesthetical elements.

Although historical houses in Safranbolu are included in the United Nations' Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) list of World Heritage, they were built without any architectural plans. Those with decaying frontage will be restored under the context of the project prepared by the Safranbolu Municipality.
