Thank God, the biggest problem of our country has been resolved. The person who “knelt down” [Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan] and the person who “stood up” [Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu] while visiting a military frontier post managed to come together and discuss Turkey’s terrorism problem.
We have the ability to make serious issues seem trivial and manipulate them, but we would like to believe that these leaders exchanged views on terrorism, which is taking the Turkish economy and legal system hostage and threatening social and psychological stability. There is no doubt that that the most crucial item on Turkey’s agenda in the upcoming period will be terrorism. Our domestic and foreign policies are dependent on each other and they are both related to ending PKK terrorism. So, I think the Erdoğan-Kılıçdaroğlu meeting was very significant.
