Turkish school in Madagascar holds graduation ceremony

Madagascar's Lumiere International School held a commencement ceremony for its graduating seniors which was attended by Madagascar Education Minister Razafimanazato Julien and Chamber of Commerce President Bezo Razafy Andrianarivelo.The school, which was opened in 2002 by Madagascar's Ministry of Education in collaboration with Turkish entrepreneurs, has managed to become one of the most successful schools across the country in a short time.

Julien, attending on behalf of the president, delivered a speech at the ceremony. Praising the quality of education at the school, Julien said: “It is very important for our country that graduates of this school are going to countries like France, Turkey and Germany. We expect they will return to their country educated in the best way possible.” He also congratulated the school administration and the students.

Andrianarivelo, who had just returned from a meeting with the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON), stated that Turkey has big potential for Madagascar in every aspect. He added that it is a great advantage for the students who are to continue their education in Turkey. Harisoa, the parent of a student at the school, said that he previously had doubts about the school because he had heard mostly negative comments about the Turks. After becoming acquainted with the teachers, he said, all doubts were removed. He added that he had also visited Turkey and has become a great admirer of Turkey.
