Boyfriend of decapitated woman was not alone during murder
According to an article by the Akşam daily, the Forensic Medicine Council's biology department has come up with significant findings after examining the body of Karabulut. According to the findings, hair, saliva and tissue samples belonging to someone other than Cem Garipoğlu were found on the body of Karabulut. Based on the report, the police plan to ask for hair samples from the family of Cem Garipoğlu in order to perform DNA tests. The samples will be compared with the samples found on Karabulut's body by the department, reported the daily.
Cem Garipoğlu, the son of a well-known businessman, is the main suspect in the murder of Karabulut. The body of the young woman was found decapitated in a bag inside a dumpster in İstanbul's Etiler district on March 5, with her head inside a guitar case on top of the bag. Since then police have been searching for her boyfriend, Garipoğlu, in connection with the murder.
Based on footage from a security camera located near the dumpster where the body was dumped, authorities identified Garipoğlu as one of the individuals who put the bag and the guitar case in the receptacle. Ahmet Garipoğlu, the father of Cem Garipoğlu, was also arrested by the İstanbul 1st Criminal Court of Peace in late April following a forensic report that established a match between bloodstains found on his suit on the day of the murder and blood samples taken from the 18-year-old victim.
