New Turkish-American scenario may work

12 March 2009 /MİLLİYET HASAN CEMAL
A new scenario is evolving in Turkish-American relations. If this scenario is staged perfectly and played meticulously, it will be beneficial to both parties.
From this perspective, the visit by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Ankara was good. Apparently, President Barack Obama will play the determinative role in the new Turkish-American scenario. Maybe it is unnecessary to repeat this, but the president's visit to Turkey scheduled for early April is important in a number of respects. If Ankara and Washington make some progress in their relations during this visit, a new era will start in bilateral relations. Both countries, as well as the entire region, will benefit from such an improvement. There are already signs suggesting that the new scenario has been written out perfectly and that some of its parts are already being played out.
