Turkey has struck Syrian army targets after a mortar shell hit a forested area in the southern Turkish province of Hatay.
Clashes erupted between pro-regime forces and opposition fighters in the town of Kasab in Syria's Latakia governorate and the mortar shell hit the Yayladağı district of Hatay as a result of the clashes.
The mortar shell fell in a forested area -- one kilometer from the Kayapınar military base. Sources said the Turkish army immediately retaliated against the Syrian forces.
