The US Ambassador to Turkey said on Wednesday that there are no plans for US President Barack Obama to make his first foreign visit after the election to Turkey.

“As an ambassador here, I'd love to see him come to Turkey of course,” Francis J. Ricciardone said in response to rumors that the re-elected Obama is expected to make a visit to Turkey soon.

“I'm sure he did not have any plans for a foreign travel itinerary before the election results came in,” he said, stressing that the president will take time to get some rest after heavy campaigning.

Obama paid a landmark two-day visit to Turkey in April 2009 as part of a European tour and also as the last leg of his maiden trip on the world stage as president. It was also his first official trip to a predominantly Muslim country as president.

@ Thessalonian i think you never read or you just read horror books, i dont care where you are from even armenia, israel, greece, g.cyprus or not from the earth, nobody has to like turkey, easily we as turks like our country.
@RebelJim. Unfortunately, TZ's moderators did not grand publication status to my reply to your nasty, as usual, post. Regards
@Orhun. I strongly recommend that you start reading Turkish newspapers. It may possibly prove to be beneficial as it may prevent you from sticking your foot in your mouth, as you did here, in the future. Regards
@Thessalonian. What are you talking about? You must be a member of the Greek Dawn or Golden Dawn or whatever. Turkey doesn't harbor Hamas. Syria does. And to @Sid. The US doesn't feed or protect Turkey. The Cold War ended 20 years ago. Turkey is doing the US and the West a favour by accepting the S...
Raffi. US still remembers how Turkey refused to support US withdrawals from Iraq. And now Turkey asks US to come again and replace Assad?
Sid, Turkey is protecting US from Russia otherwise he would have a good relation with Syria
Thessalonian@ Dont suck up to Israel, believe me you wont get much change from Jews. Sid@ you are talking lots of Rubbish. genesis@ We just have to wait a see.
Raffi,Obama owes nothing to Turkey or its people. The USA has been protecting you, feeding you, educating you and it is about time you stand up on your own feet. The USA will not jeopardise its geopolitical interests because of Turkey.
Why would he visit a country which harbors and abets terrorist Hamas? A terrorist group, recognized as such by the US, EU and countless others, much to Turkey's discredit. Regards
Oh my Goodness! Erdogan not among the 5 best friends of Obama any more? Maybe Turks should see the consequences and get rid of him!
Pres. Obama should visit Turkey to show the world how close he is with Turkey, he owes that to the Turkish people, Turkey is paying the price dearly with Syria for it's loyalty to US.
