Suspicious package causes alarm at Turkish Embassy in Sweden
The Turkish Embassy in Stockholm was put on alert on Tuesday evening due to a suspicious package found outside the embassy.
Following the destruction of the package by the bomb disposal squad, it was determined that it had been a false alarm.
According to the Anatolia news agency, after an investigation no explosive material was found in the remnants of the package. Police also searched for explosives in the embassy but none were discovered.
The package was found at 17:40 local time (1640 GMT) outside the Turkish Embassy, which is located on Dag Hammarskjölds Road in the eastern part of Stockholm. Staff members of the embassy were evacuated to an area nearby, the Swedish media reported.
Security measures were taken around the embassy premises after the evacuation.
