Galatasaray, aka the Lions, beat Italian football team Fiorentina 1-0 in a warm-up match at the club’s Türk Telekom Arena in İstanbul on Wednesday evening, completing its warm-up matches without being defeated.

Prior to Wednesday’s match with Fiorentina, Galatasaray played against Austrian team SV Kirchbichl (winning 11-0), İstanbulspor (5-0), Slovenian Olimpija Ljubljana (1-1) and Italian team Lazio (1-0). Wednesday’s goal came from Galatasaray’s new signing Umut Bulut in the 48th minute. Fiorentino’s keeper Emiliano Viviano sustained an ankle injury against Bulut and was replaced by Cristiano Lupatelli.  Meanwhile, Galatasaray’s newly acquired Dutch-Moroccan winger Noureddine Amrabat played his first match for the team. The club will play its first official match against Fenerbahçe in the Super Cup, which is played between the Super League and Turkey Cup winners every year, in Erzurum on Aug. 12.
