According to information obtained from gas stations, the pump price of a liter (nearly a quarter gallon) of 95-octane unleaded gasoline in Ankara rose from TL 4.30 to TL 4.38. In İstanbul and İzmir the price increased from TL 4.29 to TL 4.37.
In these cities, the three largest in the country, the pump price of a liter of 97-octane unleaded gasoline increased from TL 4.36 to TL 4.44. The final prices are determined by retailers, resulting in minor price differences between cities depending on competition, the individual company and the size of the city.
The latest price hike in the gasoline markets came as no surprise to Turkish consumers, being preceded by a Kr 12 rise at the beginning of July, when the pump price of a liter of 95-octane unleaded gasoline in Ankara and İstanbul reached TL 4.30.
