Socialist hacker group RedHack (Kızıl Hackerlar) staged a series of cyber-attacks on the Turkish Football Federation’s (TFF) and National Intelligence Organization’s (MİT) websites, and international group Anonymous hacked the National Police Department’s official website early on Thursday in support of the Turkish group.

Redhack has previously attacked several government and public websites, including websites belonging to several government ministries, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), the Land Forces Command, the Air Forces Command, Turkish telecommunications mega-corporation Türk Telekom and a number of other institutions. Furthermore, Anonymous hacked the personal website of Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek (www.melihgokcek.com) on Tuesday in support of RedHack, against which Gökçek recently launched a campaign. Gökçek promised to ensure that members of the group were captured by police.
