Turkish Parliament adjourns for summer recess

4 July 2012 /TODAYSZAMAN.COM
After 21 hours of discussions on a new “sack law,” a package of unrelated revisions to laws that are lumped together for the purpose of fast-tracking legislative changes, Turkish Parliament has adjourned for summer recess.

With debates in Parliament on revisions to a number of laws finally concluded, new regulations concerning restrictions on caesarean births and the sale of cigarettes and tobacco products to people under 18 have been passed.

Parliamentary Deputy Chairman Sadık Yakut has announced that the assembly will reconvene in October.
