As soon as we said ‘peace’

Not even 24 hours after Karayılan told journalist Avni Özgürel that they are not planning attacks on military outposts, the PKK carried out a deadly attack on a military outpost. This means either Karayılan was telling Özgürel a lie, which makes Karayılan an unreliable man, or it means that Karayılan had been uninformed about the planned attack, which means he is an “insignificant” figure within the PKK. Either way, this attack has certainly ruled out Karayılan as a man to represent the PKK from now on. Not only Karayılan, but Leyla Zana, Massoud Barzani and Jalal Talabani, who were giving messages favoring democratic means for peace, were the targets of this attack as well.
