Çukurova University rector detained over corruption allegations

The rector of Adana’s Çukurova University has been detained by police along with 11 others as part of an investigation into allegations of corruption at the university.

Police raided the Rector’s Office and the Administrative Affairs building on the university’s campus early on Friday following claims that the construction and restoration of university buildings had involved corruption. Twelve people, including Rector Alper Akınoğlu, were detained after the searches.
