Turkish jazz pianist/composer Kerem Görsev on Tuesday kicked off the 51st edition of Bursa’s annual summer festival, presenting symphonic renditions of his works with his quartet, accompanied by the Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra.

The Kerem Görsev Quartet, also featuring Ferit Odman on drums, Kağan Yıldız on bass and Engin Recepoğulları on the saxophone, took to the stage at the Kültürpark Open-Air Theater at 9:15 p.m. for the opening concert, where the Bursa Symphony was conducted by Erol Erdinç, the Anatolia news agency reported.

Organized annually by the Greater Bursa Municipality and the Bursa Foundation for Culture, Art and Tourism (BKSV), the International Bursa Festival will continue through July 12 in its 51st year, culminating with the 26th Golden Karagöz International Folkdance Competition, which will run from July 7-12.

Other highlights of the program include concerts by Ladino singer Yasmin Levy, scheduled for June 20; Spain’s Monica Molina, on July 1; and pop singer Inna, on July 3.
