Chairman Ünal Aysal has said his target is to make Galatasaray one of the top 10 teams on the European continent. Aysal, speaking in Cologne during celebrations to mark Galatasaray’s 2011-12 championship, said he wasn’t in Germany to talk about the past but about what the future holds.
Aysal noted that there was nothing impossible for Galatasaray, which has won the biggest club football trophy in Europe, the UEFA Super Cup. He also stated that for the club to be successful all the time, it needs a strong economy, a quality sports infrastructure and therefore the support of all 25 million Galatasaray fans. “We are striving to take Galatasaray to greater heights. The club’s overall debt, which was $328 million last year, will be reduced to $120 million by March of next year,” he asserted, also reiterating the importance of fan support.
