Ülker invests TL 3 mln annually in Hero Baby

Established in 2002 jointly by Ülker's parent company Yıldız Holding and the Swiss world baby-food giant Hero Group, Hero Baby is Turkey's first maker of baby formulae. The affiliate produces baby follow-up nutrition with formula containing dozens of separate vitamins and minerals in baby food jars in Ankara.

Hero Gıda General Manager Mehmet Erol says the company provides the produce for baby nutrition -- except for tropical ones -- from their own farms in Turkey. “This produce later goes through 530 separate product analyses in our research and development [R&D] facilities,” he notes. Erol says Turkey has more room to grow in baby food compared to some EU markets and that parents are becoming well informed about the importance of vitamin and mineral nutrition support in the early months of their babies.
