The tournament, the first part of which was held in the village of Tekeli and the second in the district of Şemdinli, brought together children and young people out of great curiosity for the sport. Hakkari Provincial Director of Youth Services and Sports Reşit Güldal and provincial representative Yakup Aktaş, along with tournament referees, met before the tournament to place pot plants and prepare the grounds for the games. Aktaş, in comments to the press, said streetball had never been played in Hakkari before. Eight teams participated in the tournament. “We didn’t expect the tournament to be so popular with it being its first time in Hakkari,” he said.
