Galatasaray midfielder Selçuk İnan says his team has “pulled off a difficult but important feat” with their win earlier this month over archrival Fenerbahçe, telling the Turkish channel GSTV on Tuesday about the season and the championship team.
Galatasaray’s win comes in a season in which 10 of the squad’s 11 starting players -- including İnan -- were new, something the midfielder highlighted as he told GSTV: “Galatasaray is the kind of team that has always put the championships first in mind. We knew it was going to be difficult, but if it isn’t hard, you don’t experience the same sort of satisfaction.” Galatasaray won its 18th title after finishing first in the Super League regular season and edging out former champion Fenerbahçe in the inaugural four-team Super Final. “After coming and seeing the environment and energy in the team after winning the championship, I’ve understood what a good decision it was to come to Galatasaray,” İnan noted.
