AK Party official assassinated in southeast Turkey

Provincial deputy head of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Ali Kılınç was assassinated on Wednesday night in southeastern Turkish province of Şırnak.

He was shot by unknown assailants in front of his house. His body was brought to Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy. He had a preliminary autopsy in Şırnak State Hospital.

AK Parti Şırnak Provincial Head Rizgin Birlik told Anatolia news agency that he condemns this attack and that he doesn’t think it is related to politics. He added that he wants the perpetrators to be found immediately.

Security forces have launched investigation into the incident.
