Two die while digging for treasure in Van’s Başkale

Seventeen-year-old Abdulselam Kızıl and 21-year-old Zahir Uslu were digging illegally for ancient treasures in an area called Dem near the Güleçler village of the Başkale district when a rock fell on them. Uslu died at the scene, while Kızıl, who sustained severe injuries, died on the way to a nearby hospital. Police have launched an investigation into the case.
