The Turkish military has killed three members of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in southeast Turkey, Siirt’s governor has said.

Musa Çolak said in a statement on Monday that Gendarmerie Special Forces and Police Special Forces units conducted a joint operation near Siirt’s central-Kalender Mountain region on Monday. The operation was based on intelligence reports and “rendered ineffective two members of the terrorist organization."

“Rendered ineffective” is a term often used by the military to refer to PKK deaths.

Çolak added that Turkish security forces didn’t suffer any losses or injuries and that operations in the region continue.

In another statement released later on Monday, Çolak said security forces had killed one more terrorist in Siirt’s Eruh district, while two Turkish soldiers were slightly injured. He also said in the written statement that the injured security personnel were taken to Siirt Military Hospital, adding that operations are to continue without interruption.
