The six-day volleyball qualifiers for the Olympic Games between July 27 and August 12 this summer in London mark one of the most important events of the year in volleyball. Turkey, Russia, Serbia, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia and Bulgaria will compete in the qualifiers for the Olympic Games. Teams will compete in two groups for the first four days, after which the two group winners will face off in the semi-finals. Turkey will compete in Group A against Bulgaria, Germany and Serbia. The country’s first game will be against Bulgaria tonight at 7 p.m. It will play Croatia on Wednesday and Germany on Thursday. Turkey’s women’s volleyball team will be composed of Esra Gümüş, Gülden Kayalar Kuzubaşıoğlu, Neslihan Darnel, Büşra Cansu, Ergül Avcı, Gözde Kırdar Sonsırma, Güldeniz Önal, Gizem Güreşen, Bahar Toksoy, Özge Kırdar Çemberci, Eda Erdem Dündar, Naz Aydemir, Polen Uslupehlivan, Neriman Özsoy, Öznur Yurtdagülen and Meryem Boz. Twelve countries will compete in this summer’s Olympic Games.
