Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, known for being a promising football player before he entered politics, had a chance to relive his youth when he played with a soccer ball presented by his Australian counterpart on Thursday at the Prime Ministry.

Erdoğan met with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard on Thursday at his office after the Australian leader attended a dawn service and commemoration ceremony held at Gallipoli Peninsula on Wednesday. Gillard presented him with a soccer ball signed by Australian national soccer team players as a gift, acknowledging Erdoğan's interest in football.

Photos provided by the Prime Ministry showed Erdoğan playing with the ball and heading it as Gillard watched on.
