Noting their contribution in bringing Turkish businessmen to Russia, RUTİD President Esat Sarı said, “We brought 20 businessmen on the trip and provided them assistance with their market research.” He underlined that when trading with Russia, these businessmen should be looking for long-term investments. He stated, “Russia is one of the most active markets in the world and it will continue to grow more with membership in the World Trade Organization [WTO].” He also added: “This is the best time to invest in Russia, and RUTİD is ready to provide all types of guidance in the country. Businessmen will not face any difficulties as long as they are in contact with us.” Underlining 20 percent growth in Russia’s retail sector, Sarı said, “Russia is the fastest growing nation of the G8 and we see a bright future for this country.”
Exporter and Industrialist Businessmen’s Association (İHSANDER) Secretary-General Özer Demircan noted that the association has over 600 members, 150 of which are active in the textile sector. “We came with 20 of our members to research the sector in Russia and we plan to visit the country with more members on Feb. 28 to attend trade shows,” Demircan said. The cooperation between Russia and Turkey has been growing in many respects, such as tourism, energy, politics and economics. The total trade volume between the two reached $30 billion in 2011 and both countries plan to increase this to $100 billion in the next five years.
