Beşiktaş Milangaz too good for Karşıyaka

5 February 2012 / TODAY'S ZAMAN, İSTANBUL
Beşiktaş Milangaz was on the offensive from the word go, taking control of the game with serial shots to make the score 13-4 within the first six minutes in week 17 of their men's Beko Basketball League on Saturday.

Pınar Karşıyaka, however, seemed to show strong resistance and was only two points behind Beşiktaş in the early minutes of the game. But Morrison and Ersin Dağlı helped the İstanbul powerhouse to lead the game, making it 21-14 at the end the first quarter. At the end of the second quarter, Beşiktaş managed to take a clear lead with 50-38. With the start of the third quarter Pınar Karşıkaya was leading 51-55, taking advantage of the ball losses of the İstanbul team. But Hawkins, Arroyo and Erceg contributed tremendously to produce points for Beşiktaş towards the end of third quarter and in the fourth quarter, which made way for İstanbul to seal the win in style. Beşiktaş Milangaz 88, Pınar Karşıyaka 80.

Other Week 17 results: Aliağa Petkim 72, Anadolu Efes 76; Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi 92, Trabzonspor 80; Türk Telekom 65, Bandırma Kırmızı 72; Olin Edirne 87, Hacettepe Üniversitesi 75; and Erdemirspor 77, TOFAŞ 66.
