SALT galleries hosting contemporary art from Netherlands
Set to run through April 6 in both venues, the exhibition is a joint effort between the Eindhoven-based modern art museum Van Abbemuseum and İstanbul’s SALT. Held on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the commencement of diplomatic ties between Turkey and the Netherlands, the exhibition is the first in the series of exhibits, “İstanbul-Eindhoven -- SALTVanAbbe.”
As its title suggests, the show brings together a selection of contemporary art created after 1989 by 15 artists, most of whom are internationally renowned Dutch artists who are not very well known or have not previously exhibited in Turkey, SALT announced in a written statement this week. Also included in the selection are works by Turkey’s Cevdet Erek, İnci Eviner and Leyla Gediz.
