Cihan news agency's new website welcomes 2012 with four languages

2 January 2012 / TODAYSZAMAN.COM,
The Cihan news agency, a sister agency of the Zaman Media Group, of which Today's Zaman is a part, has welcomed the new year with an updated website, which now provides news material in three more languages in addition to Turkish.

Cihan, which has already been providing up-to-date news coverage in Turkish, Arabic, English and Russian, gathers these four languages in cihan.com.tr, enabling its readers and subscribers to reach publications in these languages with just a click.

The English-version of the website delivers the news in video, text and photos while the Russian and Arabic versions provide news stories and photos.

Subscribers to Cihan's services in the foreign languages are now able to download photos and videos and search the website's archive.

As for non-subscribers, they can read the content of the main stories, watch lower resolution videos and see photos free of charge.

Cihan's news material can also be followed on social networking websites Facebook and Twitter at http://www.facebook.com/Cihannews and https://twitter.com/cihan_news.

Cihan also enables its subscribers to easily access web and TV videos through the Turkish version of the website. Subscribers are able to download these videos with just a click. The subscribers are also able to follow the Cihan TV network, which encompasses 84 local and regional television broadcasters and provides high-quality news bulletins in addition to news programs for national channels, all through Cihan's new website.

Android and iPhone users who would like to follow the agency on their mobile phones can also have access to Cihan's news material by downloading the Cihan app free of charge at https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cihan.activity and http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cihan/id438050157?mt=8&ls=1.

Cihan General Director Abdülhamit Bilici has said Cihan attaches high importance to social networking websites and providing news material in foreign languages, adding that they plan to pursue new initiatives to this end.
